Shuttle Driver & Shop Helper Job Description
About the Role
Waterdown Collision is seeking a reliable and motivated team member to join us as a Shuttle Driver & Shop Helper. This dual-role position combines customer-facing responsibilities with hands-on support in our collision center and warehouse areas.
You will play an important role in delivering excellent customer service while helping maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment.
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- 7:00 AM start time
- End time may vary depending on daily tasks
- Schedule adjustments may be made to balance hours when needed
Key Responsibilities
Shuttle Driver Duties
- Safely and courteously transport customers to and from the collision center
- Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the shuttle vehicle
- Refuel vehicle weekly
- Ensure dash camera is always operational
- Monitor and report vehicle service needs (oil, fluids, maintenance)
- Communicate clearly with customers and shop staff regarding schedules
- Use company-provided phone for GPS/navigation
- Maintain professionalism and report any customer concerns or service requests to management
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies
Shop Helper Duties
- Assist technicians with basic shop tasks
- Clean and organize tools, equipment, and work areas (air lines, welders, extension cords, parts racks)
- Dispose of materials in designated areas:
- Metal and aluminum parts
- Tires, fluids, and batteries
- Cardboard and general waste (4–5 times daily)
- Cut and dispose of plastic bumpers and trim
- Move and organize vehicles on the lot:

- Manage rental and loaner vehicles
- Return vehicles to proper staging areas
- Track and report fuel levels
- Perform general shop upkeep:

- Snow removal, salting, and entrance maintenance in winter
- Daily mopping of reception and estimator areas during winter
- Lawn care and garden maintenance in warmer months
- Assist with inventory and supply stocking
- Run errands including:

- Picking up and returning parts
- Delivering vehicles to sublet vendors (e.g., alignments)
- Transporting parts or vehicles as directed
Qualifications
- Valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weight
Work Environment
- Duties are performed in the warehouse, collision center, and outdoor areas
- This role does not involve front office or administrative work
